Welcome to the CCCL Junior Section play-cricket website which is intended primarily as a source of juniors fixture and results information for around 50 full and associate member clubs.

The ethos of the Junior Section is the development of young cricketers with the hope that many will go forward to play for their cliubs in the senior division of CCCL or other leagues in Cheshire. The Junior Section administers league competitions for age groups Under 9 (‘pairs’ played with an Incrediball), Under 11 (‘pairs’ with a hard ball), Under 13 and Under 15. Knockout cup competitions, for the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 17 age groups are always well supported, with each group competing for its own John North Trophy.

A large proportion of the cricket clubs in Cheshire enter one or more of the Junior Sections’s diviisions each season, so there is always varied and healthy competition across the age ranges. The Under 9s and Under 11s league competitions are divided into geographic zones with the winners and others from each zone zone competing in quarter- and semi-finals, and a final. The Under 13s and Under 15s are divided into geographically-zoned mini-leagues for the first half of the season and then into ability groups for the second half, thus giving all abilities reasonably balanced competitive cricket. Trophies are presented to the winning teams in each group with the winners of the two top ability groups becoming the league champions for their respective age-groups.

Representatives from prospective new member clubs should make enquiries via this website.
